The UGA Cooperative Extension Office in Columbus, Georgia and Trees Columbus, Inc. have partnered to offer area residents a closer look at trees that may be surprisingly familiar. Whether you explore these urban trees online from the comforts of home or office, or examine them up close as you follow the tour, the Tree Walks are designed to help you discover the diversity, benefits and beauty of community trees.
Three ways to take a Tree Walk in any season or weather condition:
- Contact Trees Columbus, Inc. at treescolumbus@bellsouth.net to inquire about a date and time for the next guided Tree Walk;
- On the web, select a Tree Walk and click from tree to tree. The site features maps, photographs, audio and text to introduce you to the distinctive characteristics of notable trees; or
- Enjoy a self guided tree tour: Print the Tree Walk map and download the corresponding audio files to your MP3 player and tour at your own convenience.
We hope you enjoy your Tree Walk.
