The Tax Office collects ad valorem taxes due by the residents of Columbus for the State of Georgia, Columbus Consolidated Government, and Muscogee County School District.
The Tax Office receives tax returns, homestead exemption applications and the certification of the real and personal property digest to the State of Georgia, Department of Revenue, Property Tax Division. Intangible taxes are also the responsibility of this office.
