How much does it cost to ride METRA?

When does METRA operate?

Answer
Buses: Buses operate from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday 
through Saturday. Individual bus routes vary. Call the Transfer Center at
(706) 653-4413 for details.

How do I ride METRA?

Answer
Easy Planning
Call 706-653-4413 and give our highly trained employees your departure and
destination points. Take your time; repeat the information given and then write down
information about METRA locations, the names and numbers of routes, departure and
arrival times, and any other transfer information you may need. Feel free to ask
questions and to call again to review your instructions.

Easy Boarding
Look for the orange, white and blue striped signs that identify METRA stops, stations
and vehicles.

Bus Riders: METRA buses display the names and numbers of routes just above the
windshield. Signal to the driver that you wish to board.

Easy Fares
A single $1.25 fare covers one-way bus trips. Bus riders may drop exact
fare (bills and/or coins) into the fare box near the driver.

Easy Riding
Enjoy the ride, but stay alert.
If you need assistance while traveling, bus riders may ask our friendly drivers to help
you identify your stop. As you approach your stop, pull the overhead cord, or push the
strip along the windows to let the driver know you want to get off.

Is METRA accessible for disabled riders?

Answer
:  METRA provides easy service to elderly and disabled passengers. Most of 
Buses that are equipped with wheel- chair lifts are available on all routes and wheelchair tie-downs are available on 100% of METRA's bus fleet. METRA has a TDD Schedule Information telephone number for the hearing impaired. Call (706) 653-4414.

Also, our Dial-A-Ride program provides curb-to-curb transportation for eligible disabled
persons unable to use our fixed-route service.
