To monitor the city's affirmative action plan.
To ensure compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
To maintain a comprehensive Equal Employment Opportunity training program.
To investigate and conciliate internal complaints of discrimination.
To provide technical assistance to departments.
To serve as liaison between the city and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(EEOC) and other federal compliance agencies.
This office is liaison for the Mayor's Commission on
Diversity which promotes an awareness and appreciation of the diversity in the community,
and advocates equality and fair treatment of all citizens through educational and cultural
programs.
