The Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes in the following taxing districts: All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held in the Council Chambers on the plaza level of the Government Center Tower, 100 10th Street, on June 11, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are to be held in the Council Chambers on the plaza level of the Government Center Tower, 100 10th Street, June 18, 2013 at 9:00 a.m

Notice of Property Tax Increase
This tentative increase in Urban Services District #1 will result in a millage rate of 17.09 mills, an increase of 0.77 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 16.32 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $28.11 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $53.90.
This tentative increase in Urban Services District #2 will result in a millage rate of 11.11 mills, an increase of 0.38 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 10.73 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $13.87 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $26.60.
This tentative increase in Urban Services District #4 will result in a millage rate of 10.21 mills, an increase of 0.10 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 10.11 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $125,000 is approximately $3.65 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of $175,000 is approximately $7.00.
