Visitation Rights, Direct Appeal in Moore v. Moore-McKinney. civil case# A09A0262 May 6, 2009 - Judge Adams

The Court of Appels partially revrsed the judgment modifying Anthony B. Moore and Janeen H. Moore-McKinney's visitation schedule, holding that the trial court erred in modifying Moore's Wednesday visitation hours when the children were out of school, since the change to a 6:00 p.m. pickup did not reflect what occurred in the transcript, where the parties agreed that the pickup time would be 5:00 p.m.

Whereas the Clerk's office policy is to assist individual requests whenever possible, we are receiving a large number of requests from commercial data collection agencies and companies requesting that we furnish them with entire databases and/or requesting that we engage in real estate and court record searches on their behalf. Presumably, these companies are charging fees to their customers to provide this service and are attempting to have various Clerks' offices actually perform the work for them.

Traditionally, record searches are done by private individuals, not by Clerks' offices. Apart from the fact that we do not have sufficient staff to perform record searches, it also places our office in a position of liability for any mistakes made in searches.

Our policy regarding bulk database collection is not to sell or distribute this information. There is a great deal of private, individualized information in many of our files. This is the reason I do not choose to put court data on the public website at this time.

I recently notified our local community through our local news media about a company, National Deed Service, which is offering to provide individuals with certified copies of their deeds for $69.50.

We have been informed that the company is continuing to send such letters and that their fee is now $89.50.

PLEASE note that this office has nothing to do with this private company nor their solicitations. Furthermore, you can receive a certified copy of your deed from our office for $2.50 first page and $.50 for each page thereafter. If you want a regular copy of your deed, you can print it from online at no cost if it is dated after July 1985. Otherwise, you can get a regular copy in our office for $.25 per page.
